MICK PRESTON - ACTOR

 Hi. Welcome to my website. I trained as an actor in New York with legendary teacher/actress Uta Hagen, including being one of only a handful of actors personally invited by Ms. Hagen to perform in her masterclass, which was filmed for the documentary 'Acting Class by Uta Hagen'. I lived in NYC for 9 years and then LA for a further 2 before relocating to Australia. I've worked in dozens of films that have played all over the world. I'm really interested in exploring darker, complex characters challenged by life (click this LINK to go straight to my theatrical demo reel). Some of the most rewarding gigs I've had so far include:

- Being incinerated by the flying monster Rodan after a verbal battle with a pimp in 'Godzilla Final Wars'. I shot at TOHO studios in Tokyo and later attended the premiere at Mann's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood;
- Playing Derek Hunter in a skit with Tony Randall on 'The Late Show with David Letterman';
- Playing the defeated husband, Joe, in the NYC National Board of Review winning 'Little Xmas' directed by Eilis Kirwan (writer of 'The Whistleblower');
- Portraying convicted murderer and ex lover to Nadine Garner on 'City Homicide';
- Being 3 vaudevillian brothers on 'Bringing Our Stories Home' for the ABC;
- Playing Stef Dawson's distracted dad in the Project Greenlight top 4 film, 'White Noise';
- Blackmailing Paul Robinson as corrupt councillior Allan Hewitt on Neighbours, Ch 11;
- Receiving a Best Actor nomination for playing the enigmatic Marcus in 'Evie Wants a Baby';
- Pranking Wendie Malik on A&E and Jessica Mauboy on 'Surprise Surprise Gotcha';
- Playing Chicago Bull's Luke Longleys coach in a basketball film;
- Playing the Announcer in a live radio version of 'The War of the Worlds', directed by Colin Budds;
- Helped workshop NYC teacher Carol Rosenfeld's book 'Acting and Living in Discovery';

I'm also currently producing a documentary focusing on mental health, have written a script about the relationship between a carer and 4 intellectually disabled adults and did 6 years of Wing Chun Kung Fu.
